Data Processing Pipeline?

Hi, I know the Best Media Processing Submission, deals with the following:

"Applications that process, transform, analyze, migrate, or store audio, visual, other media, and more."

Can that also include documents and files? I want to build a pipeline to handle and traverse large data more efficiently. Or strictly non-text items.
